So, I have an Rx 580, 4 gig From Asus (bought around the time bitcoin was dying, the prices were down, but the stock wasn't up, only 4 gig cards and this was the best option at the time. If they had been in stock, the 8 gig cards were like 5 extra bucks, no brainer choice... but they only came in stock 8 months after I bought the card, and I really needed an upgrade from integrated graphics) and also a I3-6100, stock cooler, planning an upgrade to a ryzen 5 3600. The case is random, got it for free at my job, looks god awfull and is enclosed for all but the back and a couple holes on the bottom of a side without a fan, so airflow is pretty restricted, also since it isn't the kind to show off, it's in a corner below my desk eating all the dust. Basically, the only cooling is what the back fan sucks into the case, cpu moves it around, and gpu and psu suck it in and out, not a very "overclockable thermal pc", but, the fan at 100% is baarely audible because of it being all thick insulated metal. RX 580 4 gig, Asus. The card is double-fan and I was able to get it from Core clock 1360. Memory clock 1750. To Core Clock 1475. Memory clock 2000. Core voltage- +100, power limit- +100, temp limit- 90, fan speed on manual max, ate up to 210 W of power, Reached around 89* in 2 hrs, but didn't downclock, Msi Afterburner and Heaven benchmark. I managed to gain around 16% more performance in benchmarks, not sure about real fps in-game, but let the Heaven benchmark run for a few hours, seemed stable, also improved the 3dmark tymespy demo score around 20%. From 3,282 to 3 923. I'm new to overclocking, but this seems a little too good to be true? Was doing this possible all this time? The diffrence is equal to getting a newer 590. Was I lucky to get such high numbers because of silicon lottery? Is this normal and why the hell have I been missing out on this? I know intel k and all amd cpu's can be overclocked with decent cooling and some silicon lottery luck, are gpu's the same? I'm new to this soo, I guess this is mostly a report on what I was able to get >_> Thanks if someone answers ^^!

edit: Do not mine 0xBitcoin to an exchange address! Pools will send 0xBitcoin tokens directly to your ethereum wallet, which is an ERC-20 token. Exchanges will most likely not know how to receive these. ~ Hey guys, do you like erc-20 tokens? What if you could mine one? Well now you can! The developer of the open source MVis-ethminer just released a fork of his miner called MVis-tokenminer that can mine 0xBitcoin either solo or in a pool with a GPU. AMD cards have been working for me so far, but the developer mentions "You may have some luck running this miner on NVidia GPUs" so it's probably worth giving it a shot.
I am using AMD's beta blockchain drivers still, but the newer drivers probably work too.
I am running my rx570s with memory downclocked to 1300 MHz (not a typo) and it seems to be running well.
The pools are very new right now and may contain bugs. All this software is still in development, so feel free to ask questions in /0xbitcoin if you see anything behaving oddly. In particular, the vardiff algorithm is experimental, and your workers may be given an abnormally high share difficulty. This should be fixed soon.
Hi All, TLDR bottom I recently purchased a bitcoin mined 1080ti for a deep discount. The bastid kept crashing all the time and I thought it was the GPU. It turns out, I had MSI afterburner still installed on my system to OC my gtx1060. Even though I created a new profile and was using it to monitor and actually downclock the 1080ti (due to random crashes) and use it to log the GPU stats; it appears that MSI afterburner doesn't play well at all with the 1080ti. I pulled my hair out for 4 days, and finally found a post on the SQUAD forums about an exact similar "out of memory crash" for the 1080ti. Once I uninstalled MSI afterburner and... now I'm not sure this contributed or not and will have to test, increased the pagefile on the drive that squad and insurgency are installed on (30,000 I was drinking and in no mood), no more crashes and I can max outs settings to the 1080ti and was stable all night. -Got used bitcoined mined 1080ti -Kept crashing -Uninstalled MSI afterburner -Increased pagefile on my non SD drive where Unreal Engine games were installed -No more crashes Hope this helps Kromaxx
Soo after almost 3 months of setting up I have my own LN full node running on RP3
I have been eager to try LN mainnet since the very beginning of it. I've found out about lnd, eclair, zap and other wallets but every scenario I tried to use it failed because of critical issues:
eclair does not really constitute a wallet, it's more like a credit card - you can send money but not receive it
lnd is okay, but requires a server and tons of resources for maintaining a full node, can't be used securely, efficiently and mobily at the same time
zap offers some cloud wallet (in testnet!) by default, this is a serious misunderstanding of my cryptoanarchy needs
web wallets - ah, forget it
So I've decided to use my Raspberry Pi with a very old laptop HDD attached (200GB so the pruning function has to be used) to create a backend wallet service and zap desktop (temporarily!) as my frontend control panel. https://preview.redd.it/0vcq147887q11.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=7bb6eccdd4110a857e5af0400acc2d7e1ee7ee85 Setting up Pi is easy, lots of tutorials over the internet, not gonna discuss it here. Then I had to obtain bitcoind (current rel: bitcoin-0.17.0-arm-linux-gnueabihf.tar.gz) and lnd (lnd-linux-armv7-v0.5-beta.tar.gz), create a bitcoin technical user, deploy the tools, configure and install new systemd services and go through the configs. This is a tricky part, so let's share:

Whooaa, this online config generator is really helpful, but I still had to manually correct a few things. The last line is obviously generated by rpcauth.py, I disabled the wallet functionality as lnd is going to take care of my funds. ZMQ is not available to the network so only my LND can use it, RPC usage I still have to think through a little, in general I would like to have my own block explorer some day but also be safe from any hacking attempts (thus I would need at least 2 RPC ports/user accounts - one for lnd, one for block explorer frontend). No ports open on firewall at this time, only UPnP is active and gently opens 8333 for block/tx transfers. Now, synchronizing the blockchain took me time from mid-July to early September... The hard drive is really slow, also my external HDD drive has some trouble with its A/C adapter so Pi was getting undervoltage alerts all the time. Luckily, it is just downclocking when it happens and slowly but steadily synchronized the whole history. After all, I'm not paying even $5 monthly for a VPS, it is by design the cheapest hardware I could use to set up my LN wallet. When bitcoind was ready (I've heard some stories about btcd but I don't trust this software yet, sorry), it's time to configure lnd.conf:
Here I've had to XXX a little more fields, as not only the bitcoind RPC credentials are stored here, but also my node's public information (it should be illegal to run nodes without specifically selected color and alias!). It is public (and I had to open port 9735 on my firewall), but not necessarily connected to my reddit account for most of the adversaries, so let's keep it this way. In fact, I also see a security vulnerability here: my whole node's stability depends on the IP being static. I could swap it for a .tk domain but who can tell if the bad guys won't actively fight DNS system in order to prevent global economic revolution? As such, I would rather see node identification in LN based on a public key only with possible *hints* of last-known-ip-address but the whole discovery should be performed by the nodes themself in a p2p manner, obviously preventing malicious actors from poisoning the network in some way. I don't know really what took it so long, I'm not using Windows nor 'localhost' in the config so the issues like #1027 are not the case. But there are others like #1545 still open so I'm not going to ponder much on this. I haven't really got any idea how to automatically unlock the wallet after Pi restart (could happen any time!), especially since I only tried to unlock it locally with lncli (why would I enter the password anywhere outside that host?), but let's say that my wallet will only be as stable as my cheap hardware. That's okay for the beta phase. Finally, zap-desktop required me to copy tls.cert and admin.macaroon files to my desktop. If my understanding of macaroon (it's like an authentication cookie, that can later be revoked) is correct then it's not an issue, however it would be nice to have a "$50 daily limit" macaroon file in the future too, just to avoid any big issues when my client machine gets stolen. The IP took some time to advertise, I use 1ml.com to see if my node is there. The zap interface (ZapDesktop-linux-amd64-v0.2.2-beta.deb) lacks lots of useful information so I keep learning lncli syntax to get more data about my new peers or the routes offered. The transactions indeed run fast and are ridiculously cheap. I would really love to run Eclair with the same settings but it doesn't seem to support custom lnd (why?). In fact, since all I need is really a lncli wrapper, maybe it will be easy to write my own (seen some web gui which weighs 700MB after downloading all dependencies with npm - SICK!). Zap for iOS alpha test registration is DOWN so I couldn't try it (and I'm not sure if it allows custom lnd selection), Zap for Android doesn't even exist yet... By no means I claim this tutorial will work for you but I do think I shared the key points and effort estimations to help others decide if they want a full-node LN client too. I'm also interested in some ideas on what to do with it next (rather unlikely that I will share my lnd admin.macaroon with anyone!) especially if it gives me free money. For example, I can open 1000 channels and start earning money from fees, although I no longer have more Bitcoins than the LN capacity yields... I will probably keep updating the software on my Pi until it leaves beta phases and only then will pour more money inside. I'm also keen on improving the general security of my rig and those comments I will answer more seriously.

Provide any additional details you wish below. Just some additional notes: I plan to have this build for a long, long time. 2016ish games and under are my aim. I have a big backlog. CPU - I was told to get the 1600, rather than the 1600X because it can be overclocked to achieve the same results at a cheaper price. Does that sound right? MOTHERBOARD - Hear the MSI isn't much different to this one by a lot of people but was pushed towards my current mobo because apparently MSI has "Bad vrm cooling, limited bios , infrequent updates". MEMORY - Have been suggested to take 16GB. Is the brand ok or are there better options? I'm aware the 3000 will be downclocked to 2933 as per Mobo specs. STORAGE - Have opted to splurge and grab a 520GB SSD. Plan to have a wide variety of games. VIDEO CARD - It's been suggested that I try to get a GTX 970 second hand due to bitcoin miners inflating the market for GTX 1060's so I'm not sure if I'm making the most economical choice here (or if it's even the right card for me). Any thoughts? I'm thinking biting the bullet and grabbing the 1060 might be the go. CASE - Been told this was a solid choice. POWER SUPPLY - Feel pretty confident with this. Just started looking into bitcoin and was interested by the mining side of it. I don't plan on getting into it seriously at the moment but I thought I'd give it a go and see what I could do. I'm getting 390 Mhash/s right now and I'm not entirely sure what that translates to as far as success is measured. Any hints/tips for a new miner? I've been lurking forums and whatnot for what ever I can find but I have to admit I'm still a little confused as most of what I've found seems to require a decent knowledge base of the subject already. I think I understand the basics pretty well (blocks, the process mining undergoes, etc.) but if there was anything you maybe found out along the way that wasn't inherently obvious at the get go I'd love to find out. I've got a decent bit of research looking into voltage costs/ down volting my GPU and downclocking the memory (I know surprising little about this as it's never been a necessity for me but i'm somewhat tech literate and I can use google pretty well so it shouldn't be an issue). Why does the memory clock get stuck at 1250MHz and not downclock at all. Some more research into this shows the memory clock as 150MHz when windows is started but it jumps to 1250MHz as soon as the smallest thing is done on the GPU, such as watching youtube with hardware acceleration etc. Something that the card before just took in strides without an issue. GPUs are manufactured to operate at certain speeds which are called the base clock and memory clock speeds, but most have the potential to surpass that speed set by the manufacturer.
